Martine Murray says of writing The Slightly True Story of Cedar B. Hartley, “I had to sit down and try to remember what I did when I was a thirteen-year-old girl. The first thing that came into my mind was the kind of things I did in the street when I got home from school. That was where I learned how to skateboard and climb hedges and mount prickle-bomb wars against the boys. I started the story from there.” Martine lives with her daughter in Melbourne, Australia.
