A Miraculous Friendship

Shinbi is a ghost who’s not particularly fond of haunting. She prefers somewhat unghostly activities like making flower bouquets and stargazing. Greem is a shadow cast by a large rock in a clearing, so his existence is limited to clinging to the rock’s periphery during daylight. Despite being very different, what Shinbi and Greem want most is the same: a friend.

When Shinbi sits on Greem’s rock to watch the stars, she sees a shooting star and wishes for a friend. Almost in answer, she soon discovers a message that Greem had written on the rock. The two begin a written correspondence, and although they can never meet (ghosts like darkness and shadows need light), they form a beautiful and rewarding friendship. One day, Shinbi teaches Greem about shooting stars, and Greem makes a wish of his own—a wish to finally see his friend.
