It’s been almost two months since the ALA Youth Media Award winners were announced and we’re still pinching ourselves. Donna Barba Higuera was the 101th Newbery Award winner — Donna is only the third Latinx writer to win the Newbery Medal ever. And Darcie Little Badger became the first Native author to receive Newbery recognition.
